Bogotá and Caño Cristales

Assistance at El Dorado International Airport to get to the hotel, in private transport with a Spanish-speaking driver. 

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, assistance at the hotel for transfer to Terminal 2 of El Dorado International Airport to take a charter flight to La Macarena. (The boarding gate will be indicated in the booking confirmation).

Upon arrival in the municipality of La Macarena, located in the department of Meta, assistance from the guides and an introductory talk by local environmental entities (National Parks and Cormacarena).

Transfer to the selected hotel, where a room will be assigned for changing clothes and storing luggage. Then, we will transfer to the Mirador de la Macarena, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the jungle and the landscapes surrounding this natural paradise. Next, we will head to Cristalitos, the charming model of Caño Cristales, where you can admire a miniature representation of the wonderful flora and fauna that inhabits this region. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure in the morning according to the schedule indicated by the environmental authorities. The shared tour will board a boat that will sail for about 20 minutes on the Guayabero River and allow you to appreciate the natural riches of our country: bird watching, wildlife and enjoying the landscape. Once you arrive at the landing point, you will take a 4x4 truck that will transport you to Manantial del Cajuche in approximately 20 minutes, along an unpaved road surrounded by exotic vegetation. Then, you will begin a hike along one of the trails designated by the environmental authorities according to the permit, the carrying capacity, and the physical condition of the visitors. The trail will skirt Caño Cristales, a magical and unique place in the world where nature displays its beauty in the river of five colours, an effect created by the transparent and pure waters of the river that reveal different colours due to the aquatic algae that bloom during a specific time of year (June to November). During the tour, there will be a place and time to enjoy a typical regional lunch, which is given to each visitor at the start of the day wrapped in banana leaves (Fiambre style). Finally, return from Caño Cristales to the municipality of La Macarena following the same protocol as on the way there. Accommodation.

Day 4. La Macarena – Bajo Losada – Bogotá

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, we will travel to Bajo Losada for a boat trip of approximately 2 hours. This place is known for being the meeting point between the Guayabero River and the Lozada River. If nature allows it, you can see pink dolphins, which often visit the area. Finally, transfer to the airport to take the return flight to Bogotá.
